Every job is different and we will require your plans to cost accurately. There are additional costs to the basic building certification cost to be included in your budget. Our quote will supply the anticipated fees.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Yes. You also have to comply with the Building Code Australia (BCA) for a dwelling. There are some exemptions for tiny homes with Livable Housing.
Buildable Approvals has special rates for tiny homes to help keep the build costs affordable. Simply send us your plans and we will advise of costs for the building certification and inspections. Once the initial assessment is complete we can advise if further planning applications will be required.
A temporary home of wheels will not require a building approval provided it is being used in a temporary fashion (a caravan for example). To use a tiny home on wheels permanently on your property you will need to check with your local authority who may have restrictions on the length of time it can be there without being moved. In addition it may not be possible to have services such as plumbing to this temporary structure. This article may provide more information.
